About MPH

To finish first, you must first finish...........Top notch preparation and quality products are the keystone to any successful racing team. Mechanical failures are the easiest of racing's bad luck to eliminate!

Midwest Performance Hardware is all about racing. Teams ranging from F1 and IRL teams to NASCAR, USAC / WoO sprinters and NHRA Top Fuel and Funny Car teams to bracket cars and Saturday night stockers rely on MPH to provide the finest products available. MPH has the hardware and supplies every team needs to keep it all together.

MPH was started by Bill Nickerson and Mark Kaiser in 1998 after both enjoyed a long history of parts sales with various racing vendors. MPH is based on customer service and the old fashioned notion that the customer comes first. Their knowledge of hardcore racing is second to none and can give you the service you need to finish first!

Mark Kaiser
Mark was exposed to racing at a very early age. Having a father that worked at IRP as well as growing up on the West side of Indianapolis infuses racing into you very quickly.

After high school Mark put his racing roots to work at the Supershops store and after six months was managing the store. After leaving Supershops, Mark and Bill met up at Fanning's. Mark used his experience in managing parts to set up Fanning's parts distribution business while Bill was helping to develop some of the fastest engines around.

In his spare time, Mark was campaigning a slue of brackets cars at IRP then stepped up to a Super Comp. dragster in 1992. As with any racer, Mark struggled to run his car, handle twin boys and run someone else's business.

After his stints with Fanning, MFC and Howerton, Mark, like Bill, started MPH to satisfy a void in the racing parts business; customer service. Having run his own car, Mark understands how hard it is to not only find the right parts and answers just to get a car together, but make it as competitive and reliable as possible without paying through the nose.

In 2008, Mark was approached by O'Reilly Raceway Park to bring his 20 years of racing knowledge with him in helping them in managing their world famous drag strip. Throughout the season you will see Mark roaming the track and pit area making sure the track is groomed and all of the events are running smoothly.

Bill Nickerson
After 30 years in racing Bill knows a thing or two about the parts you need to go racing. Bill began his career as a mechanic with the Gene White Firestone USAC stock and open wheeled racing team in 1967. In 1970 he moved to Goodyear's test team developing tires on everything from F1 and Indy cars to sports cars to sprinters, midgets and modifieds.

In 1984 Bill went to work for Mike Fanning Racing Engines developing the Cosworth Indy car engines. Here he specialized in mechanical fuel injection and HEI testing and development. At the same time Bill was involved in developing the Renault V6 including track testing and EFI development.

In 2005 Bill retired from MPH and is off fishing, just what every racer dreams about!

Brian Malloy
Brian's racing career started in 1982. While in high school and being trained as a machinist, he worked on a top fuel dragbike spinning wrenches and boring cylinders. While motorcycles were always his passion, he joined Al Holbert's Porsche GTP team in 1985 as a machinist and was soon transferred to Porsche Motorsports parts division handling customer orders for the 962 and 944 programs. When Porsche introduced their Indy Car program, Brian was tapped to be their team parts manager and buyer.

Between Porsche ending its sports car program and starting its Indy-Car program, Brian served as Parts Manager at Ed Pink Racing Engines. Upon Porsche ending its involvement in the IndyCar series, Brian started his own parts business in Easton, PA. After two years of fighting with business partners, the company was dissolved and Brian went to work managing the hardware line for R&B / Dorman Products.

In 1993 Bettenhausen Motorsports called offering a job as their Shop Manager and Brian, tired of big business and all the stress that went with it, jumped at the chance to move to Indy. For 13 years Brian managed Bettenhausen's (Herdez, HVM, CTE.....) race shop. Here he oversaw all purchasing, shipping / receiving, the paint and fab. shops and assisted the marketing department preparing sponsor materials.

After a short stint at FABCAR as their Shop Manager, Brian joined MPH to help expand the business into the internet sales arena and to get the word out to race teams and racers about MPH's quality, pricing and excellent customer service. Brian's background in road racing, formula cars and motorcycles is a great compliment to Mark's extensive background in all areas of racing.
